Book Review (2014) - "Secrets of Forex Scalping - Learn To Scalp The Forex Market For Profit" by Kelvin Lee

This is not a book, it is pure advertising to go to the author's website and buy some of his products. The author has no explanation on how to scalp the market. We give 1 star!

Book Review (2014) - Selective Forex Trading: How to Achieve Over 100 Trades in a Row Without a Loss (Wiley Trading) by Don Snellgrove

The descriptions are very difficult to understand and the indicators which are mentioned are only briefly discussed. The only way to implement any of the strategies is subscribe to their charting service and to truly understand probably would require a mentor. We give 1 star!

Book Review (2014) - The Complete Breakout Trader: Day Trading Strategies that Work [Kindle Edition] by John Connors

We think this book is a bit short on the details and a lot of it we have seen before. A seasoned trader will not like this book but it is a good read for someone who is new to the markets. We give 3 stars!

Book Review (2014) - "A Complete Guide To Volume Price Analysis" by Anna Coulling

Book Review (2013) - Currency Trading: How to Access and Trade the World's Biggest Market by Philip Gotthelf

We are disappointed with this overpriced book. There is nothing useful, especially for the beginners. The author spends too much time explaining economic indicators that should be basic knowledge for any investor. This book is heavily overpriced. We give 2 stars!

This book is definitely an eye-opener. Everyone will surely enjoy reading the book. Rob Booker's made the learning phases of trading very much enjoyable. He showed in his book that knowing yourself is never easy and accepting the reality is difficult, too. In this book, Rob had created a character based on a newbie trader named Harry Banes. Any trader would find this book an enjoyable escape. It is not the Forex bible or anything close to it. It makes you realize how disciplined a trader is and that correcting mistakes early on could lead to a successful trading career. We give 5 stars!

Book Review (2010) - Trading in the Zone: Master the Market with Confidence, Discipline and a Winning Attitude by Mark Douglas

The author has captured all the psychological mind bending factors about trading. Not only that he offers good advice on how to overcome them with exercises that all new trade...rs should endeavour to follow. It is easy to avoid responsibility for your own trading, switching from one strategy to the next, never really achieving consistency. The authors exercises can overcome this as long as you maintain discipline and stick to your plan.
Moreover, his insight into what the trader may feel emotionally is captured very well with sound reasoning used to overcome them.
This book is not just a read once and forget, you need to read a few times to reinforce the concepts, this is easy due to the authors easy writing style. We give 5 stars!

Book Review (2009) - Reminiscences of a Stock Operator by Edwin Lefèvre

Every page of this book resonates with experience and understanding of market trading. The writing style is maybe a bit flowery for the modern reader but the content is as relevant to today's markets as anything we have read on the science and practice of trading. The writer won and lost millions of dollars as a speculator in stocks and commodities during the first half of the 20th century. The writing style is very honest about the ups and downs of his career. If you are a trader of any description you will almost certainly benefit from reading this book. We give 5 stars!

Book Review (2009) - Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by John J. Murphy

Although it is expensive to buy, this book represents excellent value in terms of the information it gives. Not a book to be read in one go, but as a reference it gives essenti...al information to beginners and advancing traders alike.
The book covers all the basic aspects of TA: philosophy, chart construction, fundamental vs. technical analysis, trends, major technical pattern recognition, moving averages, oscillators, times cycles, computer trading systems and much more. Murphy also covers different methods of charting, including ba, point and figure and candlestick (be aware that most of the analysis techniques he presents apply to bar charting and not candlestick).
What we like most about the book is that it written clearly, simply and logically. It uses many graphical examples that SHOWS the reader what to look for. We give 5 stars!

Book Review (2009) - The Secrets of Economic Indicators: Hidden Clues to Future Economic Trends and Investment Opportunities by Bernard Baumohl

The Secrets of Economic Indicators is a good book which discusses the fundamental aspects of the financial markets in a way that is not too difficult for newbies and casual tra...ders. It explains economic terms and events and how it affects the markets in a way that is not too technical. The thing that we like in Baumohl's book is where he wrote a beginner's guide that clarifies bookish economic terms. The essence of his book comes in letting the readers know the important economic releases in the United States and some parts of the world (Euro zone, Japan, etc.) and their gravity in affecting one's investments. We give 5 stars!

Book Review (2008) - The New Market Wizards: Conversations with America's Top Traders by Jack D. Schwager

The book "The New Market Wizards" tells the stories of some prominent traders in the USA back in the 80's and 90's. The stories about them are very inspiring because each of th...e so-called "wizards" came from different backgrounds. Also each of them have different styles, principles and psychology in trading. Despite their differences, each of them managed to be successful. Reading the books gives one a taste of those differences in styles and psychologically. While one may not agree or conform to all of them, it is still good to see things from different perspectives. The bottom line is all of them became successful traders at the end of the day. And you can only be more successful if you learn from those who already got there. We give 5 stars!

Book Review (2008) - Profiting With Forex: The Most Effective Tools and Techniques for Trading Currencies by John Jagerson and S. Wade Hansen

This book thoroughly introduce you to Forex. On the first part of the book, Forex trading is comprehensively explained, even the risks of trading without proper training and enough knowledge. This book is a good one to start with when learning Forex. It covers the basic fundamentals and also gives advanced information that a forex beginner needs before plunging into trading.
The author's approach is not the usual step-by-step guide. Dividing the topics and discussions into separate pieces makes the book an easy-to-read reference in Forex. We give 5 stars!
